Wealdstone Cemetery
« on: Saturday 06 November 10 08:20 GMT (UK) »
Not realy a look up, but is there anyone living near the Wealdstone Cemetery. I have found my Great Grandmothers grave and would love a pic, as i live in Australia?
If you can help that would be fantastic.
Elizabeth Jane Broughton, Died 16 July 1949. Grave is section D number 3137.

I live fairly close to Wealdstone, but I don't know of a cemetary of that name, and neither does Google maps. Do you know what church it was associated with? What sort of date are we looking at here?

could it be also known as the Pinner New Cemetery? The email i got from Harrow Cemeteries registration office said the Wealstone Cemetery. The Pinner new cemetery was the first email i got back. As i said i live in Aus, so i just put in the info i got from the registrar.
If you can help that would be great.

When I was a kid living near Wealdstone didn't there used to be a cemetery off Byron Park (Byron Road/Belmont Road)

I'd consider that to be Wealdstone Cemetery.....not linked to any church.

See http://www.harrow.gov.uk/info/329/funerals_and_burials/481/harrows_cemeteries/3

Yes it's still there at

Wealdstone Cemetery
Byron Road
Wealdstone
HA5 5BP( postcode incorrect-Taken from the Harrow Council 's website-great!!!)

It shows a place much nearer to Pinner- no wonder why that's what you got at first!

I may be able to oblige with a piccie in the middle of next week, once it stops raining here  ;D

Are you sure she has a headstone?

Also I'd need you to check with Harrow council if that IS the one they mean.

Hi

Carol - Unfortunately that postcode is for the other side of Harrow, the Harrow Cemetery website is incorrect. It isnt HA5 it's closer to HA37PP/N.

Hi Ray

I have a friend in Belmont Road, right by the side of the Cemetery his postcode is HA3 7PJ.

Again use www.streetmap.co.uk to find it on a map.

Thanks for noticing that Harrow Council have typed it up wrongly on their website!

Carol

I have emailed Harrow Council to point out their error  ;D ;D ;D
