Has anyone any information on Bath Street School, Bath Street near Lever Street London E.C.

Hi,

According to "An Index to London Schools and their Records" by Cliff Webb;  the LMA hold some records from 1892-1939 for Bath St School, City Rd, EC1.   It was renamed Moorfields Primary School in 1951.

My nan went to this school and she is still alive.. she is 96 She loved her school.. Any help I can offer?

Did your nan by any chance know anyone living in the original  Guinness Buildings in Lever Street?

Hi, She had this to say. She has all her marbles but she can only remember bits.
She went to Bath St school at age 3 in 1917 and she says it had been opened a long time before that.
She said the school had the boys at the back and the girls at the front.. so they did not mix all the time.
She remembers a caretaker called Mr Cook who was there some years and lived in a house on the premises.

The girls took lessons such as: Laundry/Cooking/Ironing... 

One of her Aunts whose maiden name was Robinson lived in the Guiness Buildings in Lever Street as my nan used to visit her but she cannot remember her surname. She called her Aunt LIzzie Robinson.. and she was married with 2 kids..

 well bath st was morefields when i got there in1958 we had been living in guinness buildings since
  about 1954 i would have been 18 months old then we had moved  from murton st. me my big sister
 mum and dad. sister being 4 years older guinness buildings were far better than the house we had
 before but now seems quite bad no electrics gas lights no bath a shared loo and only three small
 rooms one large sink in the corner of the larger room a piped radio which then seemed fantastic
 it was a hard life for mum an dad but i didnt need for much bar the tin bath in front of the fire i was 
 always last in ( me being the dirty one ) ........ sorry for going on if i can help with anything please let
 me know what i cant remember big sis can ...and theres a great photo of bath st. school on friends
 reunited that i could down load ( maybe ) if you need it bye for now ...
