Hi janine,
He married Ellen Power (daughter of James & Ellen Comerford???), also born Tipperary.
We think he went to New Zealand first, then Hamilton Vic working on railways and clearing the Gippsland line. He selected two blocks at Fumina, now known as Fumina South, lived in a mud house, living on potoates and onions thrown onto burning wood from the bush. They had eight children, Mary, Elizabeth, James, Tot, Michael, Nell, Clem and Jack. Their later house still stands at Fumina (heritage protected). I have a photo of him in his later years. We can fill in his later life in Australia, it's the Irish part that has us all stumped.
Cheers,
Rebecca
