I am researching the WOODNORTH/WOODNOTH family  in the Market Drayton - Nantwich area.  I notice that Peter Woodnorth married  Hannah Oulton 13th Jan 1791 (B.T.) and they had a dtr Ann chr. 25th Sept.1791.  Does anyone have any more info about this family.  I am trying to sort out the Peters.

Sorry not replied earlier to your message - but am in midst of house move!  - Have checked Peter Woodnorth on-line cheshire parish register database & note that his first marriage (shows as Bachelor) was to Elizabeth Bourne in 1770 at Wybunbury, Cheshire (she died in 1787 - next of kin Peter, resident at Weston) Records show a number of children christened at Wybunbury before 1785 (residing at Weston, Nr. Crewe) with Peter as father.  His 2nd marr? to Hannah Oulton in 1791  (marital status not mentioned)& daughter Ann's baptism at Wybunbury - again shows residence at Weston!
Have not yet linked Hannah Oulton to my Oulton family, but do have a John Woodnorth - on Ancestry.co.uk Tree - from the Wybunbury area - who married an Edith Timmis in 1767 & a witness of marriage is a 'Peter Woodnorth'!

Hello June.  Thanks for your reply.  The fact that Peter was a witness to John's marriage was something we didn't have.  From the Parish Clerk Records, I have John marr MARTHA Timmis 18.8.1767 in Wybunbury.
  We have been wondering if Hannah Oulton was the "Ann" in a Peter & Ann couple who later had family over in Stourbridge/Old Swinford (1815-ish). There is also a Peter (a miner, born Market Drayton abt 1817) marr 1838 to Elizabeth Deakin, living over in Wolverhampton - his father was John (nothing more known about him.) Wybunbury Parish seems to encompass Mkt Drayton: yes, we have the Weston list.

Wybunbury parish does not encompass Market Drayton and is some distance away and in a different county.
Wybunbury parish is at the south-east edge of Cheshire and adjoins Staffordshire although it is close to Shropshire. It does include Weston, Cheshire (there is also a Weston in Staffordshire and one in Shropshire.
Market Drayton is a parish town in Shropshire.
