Would you be able to send a copy of the SCOTT TUDHOPE stone? I would be so grateful. We have an oil portrait of Agnes Tudhope on our wall. She died of TB age 36 yrs.

Thanks, my Mum's family are the Scotts. They started up the Jam works. They married into the Tudhope family from Stonehouse.

Peter the stone is badly broken but is Robert Scott and Agnes Tudhope with children mentioned

Thanks for that Sancti, they were from Bothwell parish, late 1700's. Maybe the money went on mince rather than gravestones!

I had a hunch this would be the case. Agnes Tudhope looks so sad in her portrait. I would be interested in seeing which children are listed/

Hi

I'm trying to find out if there is a memorial for the Thomson family who lived at Knowehead near Bothwell.  James Paterson (b1865) married an Alison Porteous (1873-1909) in 1891 and I see both surnames on your list and wondered if either is mentioned on any of the monuments.  They had five sons, John, Thomas, Robert James and Alexander, born between 1892 and 1907.
