Two marriages in Westminster
« on: Wednesday 03 November 10 11:33 GMT (UK) »
Is there someone who can look up the following two marriages to see if possibly they refer to the same marriage and/or if there is additional information offered?

1.  John Simpson married Sarah Pottinger  10 OCT 1814  Saint James, Westminster, London, England

2.  John Simpson married Maria Peters 13 OCT 1814  Saint James, Westminster, London, England

Thank you in advance!

Diane

1.  John Simpson married Sarah Pottinger  10 OCT 1814  Saint James, Westminster, London, England

The marriage took place after Banns had been called. Both John Simpson & Sarah Pottinger were 'of this Parish'. John signed, Sarah made her mark. Witnesses were Richd Wyerth (?) and Rebecca Higgins (made her mark).

2.  John Simpson married Maria Peters 13 OCT 1814  Saint James, Westminster, London, England

The marriage was by Licence. Both 'of this Parish'. Both parties signed. Witnesses were Joseph Hornbuckle and Ann Simpson.

Hi Jennifer and Jan,

Thank you both so much for the quick replies.  So I guess these are two separate couples.

Would it be possible for two more look ups?:

John Simpson born to John and Sarah Simpson
15 JUN 1817  Saint Luke, Chelsea, London, England

Emma Simpson born to John and Mary Ann Simpson
25 JUN 1843  St Pauls, Hammersmith, London, England (born 8 May, 1842).

Best regards,

Diane

John Simpson born to John and Sarah Simpson
15 JUN 1817  Saint Luke, Chelsea, London, England

The only addition information is their abode, which was New Road, and John's occupation, which was Labourer.

Sorry, I don't see any record for the other baptism.

Thank you so much again? Do there seem to be any other children of the couple John and Sarah Simpson christened at St Lukes?  A Sarah?  I believe that Sarah Simpson may have died by 1825, is it possible for either of you to look for a death record for a Sarah Simpson between 1817/21 - 1825?

Thanks again,

Diane
