Would Merchant Marines be listed with the Royal Navy in 1840-1850's ? I do not know anything about the military.

What a fantastic effort! Thank you very much. The list of Feb 1843 has revealed an additional posting for one of my Navy ancestors that was not recorded on his service record!!

There was also a Navy List published in November 1843 - no. XVI.
