There are actually 14 children - the 13 I listed earlier and one who, according to 1911 census, died before 1911. Still trying to find Catherine's death which must have been 1914 or later...

She’s difficult to find, isn’t she.

Presumably, it was the younger girls who were sent to the industrial school.
 I wonder if Catherine developed poor physical or mental health and also went to an institution.

Yes -  My Mam always quoted 14 but two died of course
But still - 14 kids!  they don't make women like that anymore
I recall visiting auntie Annie in Tourlestrane one time - I had arrived by car and was driving down the lane to her house (about 1/2 mile from the shop)  - she had a stone of spuds on her shoulder and a full bag of groceries in the other (aged 80!) And all the women of the Farrell family were under 5ft !
So as my friend above suggests - it would not be surprising to discover
that Grandma Catherine suffered some permanent health issues as a result and
became institutionalised
Perhaps the good Sisters can throw some light on the situation?

Some of the relatives and neighbours must have known at least a bit of what happened to the Farrell family. Have you checked with all possible living relatives in case anyone remembers being told or overhearing anything?

Wonder if tracking down connections of the Brennans or Farrells might lead to more details. If you do contact the Convent for information it probably wouldn't hurt to stress that for medical reasons you are looking for details of what happened to Catherine as you've been unable, so far, to find a death record.

I'm suspicious about DOB (19th Dec. 1909)  of Margaret Mary Farrell, number 8 on list in reply #24. Mary Josephine, number 9, came hot on her heels on 26th Sept. 1910. Margaret Mary's birth wasn't registered until March. How long was the maximum time between birth and registration then?
