Bernard Henry GIDNEY would appear to be Mortimer's brother - here's the 1871 census entry for Charles and Hannah GIDNEY and family.  (The surname looks like GEDNEY on the original image.)

When Mortimer Charles Gidney married in June quarter 1891 West Ham it was to Catherine Sarah Maxwell (as shown on 1891 census she was a widow).   Barber would have been her maiden name.

Except that there doesn't seem to be a marriage between Catherine Barber and a Maxwell.  Do we have any proof that she was a Barber, or are the people with the ancestry trees assuming?  I think a birth cert and marriage cert are needed to confirm suspicions.
