Convict Richard GOLDSMITH

Hi All

Can anyone help me track down what became of Richard Goldsmith.

He was born in 1832 in Ramsgate to Edward Goldsmith and Mary Jarman at the age of 12 he was imprisoned for 6months and whipped for larcency and not learning his lesson again in 1848 at the age of 17 he was put on on trail for larcency on the 30 March 1948 and was given 7 years transportation.
He was onboard the  Minden on the 21st July 1851 and arrived in Western Australia on the 14th October 1851.

I can not find out what became of him, whether he served his sentence, married and stayed in Australia or came back to England, i have looked for him but cannot find any trace. 

So perhaps someone with a bit more knowlege than me could possibly find what became of him.

I have just had some information sent me from another source about a Richard Sydney Goldsmith, not sure  about the middle name but could possibly be him.

Found in the Australian Cemetary Index 1808 - 2007 age 24  birth around 1830, which fits, and that he died on  the  13 August 1854 / cemetary Hobart St. Davids Anglican, Tasmania.

So i am assuming if this his him that after his Conditional Pardon on the 21 January 1854 he moved on to Hobart, Tasmania and unfortunately died 8 months later.

I have tried to find this information but have been unable to do so,can any one help in confirming this and finding out more information about this death.

Death notice for Richard Sidney GOLDSMITH http://www.rootschat.com/links/0a9n/   I think he may have been part of the extensive GOLDSMITH family in Tasmania.  The primary online source for Tas is at http://portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?search=8

I can't see any events recorded for your Richard in WA, and your problem is that convicts sometimes changed their names and/or moved on to other states after attaining freedom.  As he had a conditional pardon, he would not have been able to return to England, but this is not to say that it never happened.

False alarm, this Richard Sidney was born in Sydney in 1830 to (Captain?) Edward GOLDSMITH  and Elizabeth - I think her maiden surname was DAY.
