There is a Richard Goldsmith in South Australia, however his date of birth is out by 4 years,  c: 1827 and his occupation is listed as a Labourer not Shoemaker. (unsure, I don't think this is your man).

Thanks for that, not sure if this could be him.

In the meantime i have found a death on the BDM nsw.gov site , it is for a Richard G. Goldsmith died 1858,  this could be him so have ordered the death certificate to see if it has more information, fingers crossed, will take at least 2 weeks for this to arrive.

I will let you know if this is the right Richard Goldsmith, so in the meantime thanks for you help.
