Bethel Cottage & "Register of Corrected Entries"

Evening All,

I am hoping that someone may know something about Bethel Cottage in Greenbrea, Dumfries, and its occupants between the years 1904-1906.
Also does anyone know exactly where Bethel Cottage was/is?

I am searching for anything on a Jane Paul who lived at Bethel Cottage when her daughter Catherine was born in 1904. She was still living there in 1906 when she married to Mr Charters.

There is a bit of a mystery to the whole thing including a "Register of Corrected Entries" attached to the daughters birth record.

Any stories or info would go a long way to putting the puzzel together.

Not sure whether this will hep.

I was curious and, looked up the Dumfries & District Post Office Directory for 1911 & 1912. Only found a Matthew PAUL living in Greenbrae Loaning (drain contractor) no mention of  Bethel Cottage, though.

As akc mentioned, there is a Bethel Cottage in Greenbrae Loaning. Had a look at the Google maps. I remember the cottage, as I passed it every day, going to primary school.

Sorry - I had problems with the computer.My mother ( Peggy ) Margaret Paul left Dumfries to go into service in Yorkshire and subsequently trained to be a Salvation Army officer. I was hoping to update my info with Sue from Australia.The saddest thing that I as a Genealogist have ever had to do was to enter the details of my middle son's death in 2005.Bob  a soldier was discharged medically after a head injury accident on exercise.He died during a seizure aged 43 years.One thing that I am desperate to find are photos or any details of the shop on the corner of Balmoral Road and the Lockerbie Road.My Gt Grandmother Elizabeth McGeorge McAllister was the owner.She died in a house called DELVINSIDE and again I would love any photos/info on that house if possible,.Each saturday my mother had to go to the shop to collect e few pence which we now know was maintenance foir her mother from her father.I didn't start researching until after my parents deaths so they never knew what contacts I had made..My mother had three half sisters and a half brother whom she never met.We had a wonderful reunion at my house with them a few years ago.Her half brother was the image of her.

Was reading your post.

I remember a shop at the corner of Balmoral Road and Lockerbie Road. I think two sisters owned the shop and the name Duff rings a bell.But, that would be around 1950/1960. I was born in Lockerbie Road.

Not sure about the house Delvinside but, will see if I can find any info.
