Correlation of birth dates
« on: Friday 29 October 10 14:53 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have any "feelings" about birth dates in the family, especially months.

My grandfather was born on 9th September
I was born on 11th September
Brother was born on 21st September

A second cousin of mine had two children, one born on 11th September and one born on 21st September

My mother was born on 18th March, her grandson on 3rd March,

I have more but these are the main ones.....

My brother's daughter married on 9th September (coincidence)

Just wondering

Exactly Spark... no magic to be found here.  I know I am an inveterate cynic, but why do people want to find significance in the most natural occurrences?

How about correlation of exact dates:
My husband & father both born 10th July (different years  ;D)
My husband & his great grandmother born 10th July
My sister & my husband's sister both born 8th December (different years)
My husband's parents both born 13th June (different years)

Population of the UK alone is over 61 million and there are 365/366 days in the year - so roughly 166,667 people born on the same day/month.  Lots more if you only look at the day or the month   :D

How about this -

My birthday is 3rd March, my dad's was 5th March
My daughter's birthday is 2nd February and her dad's is 7th February
and just to keep up with the time of the month, my son's is 6th September.

Mathematically if you put fifteen people in a room  (I think fifteen is right but it is definitely a small number) then probably two of them will have their birthday on the same day of the year.

None of the examples that you are quoting are unusual they are just a statistical fact.

My birthdate is the same as my father, an uncle and a cousin - unusual perhaps, but not of any real significance.
