Brown family Census - from Lancashire
« on: Friday 29 October 10 02:41 BST (UK) »
I believe I have found my grandmothers family in the 1901 census but she is not one it and she would have been 3
she was born in 1898 in flixton
her father is James Brown, mother Francis (Frances), siblings arthur, ada and amy. Ages all work out to be correct.
I am puzzled as to where she would have been at such a young age. can anyone find her on any other census/years. I know they moved at some stage to New Zealand.

Hi Smitham, in your 1st post you say that the siblings are not only the correct names, but also the correct ages to be Alice's sisters and brother, would I be correct, also the only birth I could find for c1898 was an Alice May Brown June 1898 Chorlton 8c 778, then on the 1901 is an Alice May Brown aged 3 born Manchester visiting the Bittulph family at the Red Lion in Tittesworth Staffordshire?

I cannot quite work out why, but need to know if my first point is correct!
Census Ref for Alice May Brown RG13/2625/12/1

Hi again, have you the Birth/Marriage Certs for Alice May?

Also it may be best to check the index of the 1911, and see if Alice is back with her family!! I am sure someone clevererthan myself, will post how to go about it.

But still puzzled if 1901 Alice May is her, what she was doing there?
