He came from Kent somewhere, am not sure when though he emigrated to Australia. Thomas Cooper was a popular name back then. He would have been born in the early 1800's. Will keep looking.
The Smiths (who were related to aviator Charles Kingsford Smith) came also from Kent, so I thought possible that the Cooper and Smith families may have known each other/come over here at a similar time.
As I said, was a long shot. The Kingsford Smith ancestors were from Deal and Boughton Under Blean in Kent.
