I'm trying to pin down my grt (x2) grandfather Archibald Elliot. I have found Archibald Elliot in the 1871 through to 1901 Census. The 1871 1881 & 1901 entries are definitley the same Archibald. The 1891 could be a different one (place of birth is different from others) but I "feel" it is the same person. The reason for this is that my grandfather, Archibald Elliot Parkinson, was living with
his grandfather (this Archibald Elliot) at that time as his mother had just died.
I've a hunch that Archibald Elliot moved up to Newcastle upon Tyne to look after my grandfather.
What I need to find out is - in 1901 Archibald Elliot was living at 2 Boarded Cottages, Dorking, Surrey with children of various ages. I need to find that address in the 1891 Census just to see if any of the individuals from 1901 were there then (I think that makes sense). I cannot find the address using the address search in FindMyPast for 1901 even. Has anyone any suggestions as to why I cannot find this address or what I am doing wrong?
I understand of course that I could be barking up the wrong tree completely.
David
