I apologize that I send this same email about once a year to the list, but I'm always hoping one of you out there will be able to help!
Does anyone have any information about families Oliver (from Tullynaloob, just north of Pettigoe on the Fermanagh/Donegal line) or Fitzpatrick (from Fincashel, also near Pettigoe but apparently in both co. Fermanagh and Donegal)?
John Oliver and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick were married in Templecarne Rectory, Parish of Templecarne, town of Pettigoe, Diocese of Clogher, May 13, 1858 (I have a copy of the marriage certificate). The Oliver family had lived in township of Tullynaloob for 100 years, apparently, until about 1900.
John and Elizabeth came to Canada ca. 1859, ending up in St. Thomas, Ontario. I know nothing about their transatlantic crossing, where they landed, or how them got to St. Thomas.
Jim Oliver (Charlotte, NC, USA for those interested in location!).
