Searching for John (or James) Dewhurst Walker
« on: Thursday 28 October 10 11:10 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find John (or James) Dewhurst Walker who I think was born in 1870 in England?

He married Mary and had at least one son named Claude who married a Ethel Grace Turner.

He was a partner in 'Walker, Turner, and Dawson' - film renters in London (later The Walturdaw Company).

In March 1914 he formed 'J.D. Walker's World Films'and may have travelled to America.

Any assistance welcome

Snippet found on Google Books - Comedy Films
James Dewhurst Walker has travelled all over Britain with Edison's 'Kinetoscope' cabinets, and he named his new company by taking the first three letters of his own name, and also of his two partners, Turner and Dawson...

Think you will find it was Clarence Osmond Walker who married Ethel G Turner
Qtr 1 1923 Hackney
Clarence was baptised on 11 March 1903 at St Matthias, Stoke Newington, along with siblings:

Do you have access to The Times Newspaper online?  There are 36 mentions of the company name: Walturdaw between 1911 and 1956
