Nugents of Corrakyle

I am trying to find out more about my ancestors who came from this townland. James Nugent had (at least) three sons. Edmond/Edward, Martin/Michael, and Francis. Francis was my gg grandfather born ca 1835 and he migrated to Derbyshire England around 1850. Ed, I believe, went to America and Martin/Michael remained in Clare. I have scoured the census and Griffiths but cannot find any connection with the family. The family were still living there in the 1960's but I keep drawing blanks.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Here's 3 families in the 1901 census that have a Michael or Martin of the right age, from Clare. 2 of them have a child called Edmond/Edward which fits the family naming pattern.

Thanks for this information.
The Currakyle household look likely candidates. Apart from the Michael the head there is also Helema MT. We have a "cousin" Helena visiting the family in Derbyshire in 1911. There is a slight age discrepancy and her place of birth is given as Feakle but it is s strong possibility.
The puzzle now is to find a link with this family and my gg grandfather Francis Nugent who migrated to Derbyshire around the time of The Famine. The family was still living in Corrakyle in the 1960s. I have a photo showing Martin and Michael (brother/cousins) standing outside a small famrmhouse/cottage. They would have been in their 60/70s at the time makiing their DOB 1890-1900 ish.

I had the 1891 census and I remember visiting my uncle Percy (John P in the census) as a lad.
We have a few Noras/Honorahs in the family and a fair few Martins and Michaels. One brother and sister are close in ages to the Boston ones you sent. I have not yet got to the bottom of the migrant members of the family since finding the correct ones is proving difficult.

Unusual surname for Clare -- so just in case it fills a gap for someone ....... spelled as Nughent ....

On April 20th 1867 I have a John Hourihan, baptised as a Catholic to Matt Hourihan & Mary Nugent of Rehy, between Carrigaholt & Kilbaha, southwest Clare. [ from the Baptism Register of St Mary's, Carrigaholt. ]

Also, a Member of the British Parliament for Clare before 1852 was a William Nugent Macnamara.  Would that mean he was a Protestant / Anglican? and his mother? was perhaps a Nugent?

Edmond Nugent  born 1864 Coolreagh Boydike Co Clare Married married Mary Anne Barry of Magowna Kilmaley Co Clare 3rd Feb 1894  Had Sons Martin b1895 James 1898 Joseph 1899and Daughter Mary c1900. They were first cousins of my father and owned a good farm. The only one I remember is Martin (Bachelor) who inherited the land  Mary married a Touhy man. When Martin died in the late sixties or early seventies he left his land to the Friars in Ennis to the consretnation of his relatives. He possibly did go to America in the 20s You alsohave Martin as born in Magowna which would tie up Note: Boydike is within 5 miles of the area you mention

Please thank Annie when you next see her and assure her that there is no rush for the search. The James/Edmond/Michael connection has been eluding me for years - so no urgency. I bought a copy of Ger Madden's book so that will be my Christmas present to me and I'll relax over the Christmas period having a good read.
