Hi there,

  Iam trying to find any info on Donald and Christy McDonald who left Scotland in 1852 and arrived South Australia on "Hercules" July 1853 with their 3 children.

McDONALD Donald born about 1814 arrived 1853 aboard the HERCULES
married Christy who was born about 1818
children Rory 1847, Alex 1850, Norman 1852

Do you have Christy's name Mariac? I am not spotting anything obvious in SA

   Thank you.
   I have not been able to find anymore on this family after they arrived in SA.
  Where they went, When they died, Did the children marry?
 I do have a Henry (Harry) Norman McDonald but dont know if this is the same person or not.
  I have a feeling this is the family I need but no proof.

 I found a Rory McDonald in an index from government gazettes

Given name(s): Rory
Source date: DDA 1886
DDA 1886 not sure what that meant.

This appears to be the family in 1851 Census and the marriage and birth of Rory.

Ann Mcpherson 60 1791 mother in law inverness

I believe this to be the marriage but Christy's mothers name from the 1851 census is confusing unless she married again. Iam just checking that out.

There is the death of a Rory McDonald but not him as this one is aged 71 in 1885.

Is that the SA government gazette?

I have had a look at the marriage from scotlands people Christy's name is McKenzie. Unfortunately for marriages around that time parents names are not often on the marriage.
