They would have left Ireland sometime before 1894 as they were both married in St Patrick's Church, Dumbarton in that year.  From census records it does not appear that the families of either of them came to Scotland.

Can I just check this fact as in searching to help I found a marriage for the same named people in Dumbarton but in 1884
