Hi Allan

I am no expert on dating but would not have thought this gentleman could have been born in 1837. I am sure someone will be able to give a better date but I would have said this photo was probably more 1910 or there abouts. Also the gentleman in the photo only looks about  late 30's to mid 40's to me. I could be totally wrong but I am sure someone such as Jim could help you better on dating more accurately.
