Searching for WW2 service records......
« on: Saturday 23 October 10 16:19 BST (UK) »
For a John Taylor, Private 6021161 of the Suffolk Regiment.

He is (was) my grandfather in law.

I believe he saw service in Singapore and was captured by the Japanese. He spent time in a POW camp and so say was one of those POW's who built the River Kwai bridge.

I need his service records to find out when he was freed / liberated and when he would have returned home.

If anyone can point me in the right direction then thank you.

Hi manicmarcus !

You can Apply for his service record by clicking on the blue link.

There maybe other information regarding his time as a PoW at the National Archives in Kew, and available online.  Click here for the research guide.
