« on: Saturday 23 October 10 14:09 BST (UK) »
Dear Rockofages
Could you look up Septimus Grant thought to be born circa 1846 in Burton Pidsea, East Riding. Married Anne Elizabeth Foster c1870 wife born St. Cran. York, who lived at Barnby Lodge, Barmby  I can't find a St. Cran in York? Family lived 1872 "cottage" Hendon, Thorngumbald.  Where is "Hendon" near Thornegumbald?  Any help is most welcome.

You beat me to it...I was just going to post the same info ::) ;D...Census says Ann E. was born in Aldborough.
I think that should be "Forkerleys"  ;D

Snowshoe.....I think "Hendon" should read "Hedon" which is near to Thorngumbald.

:)Continuing with the Allison/Grant family Burton Pidsea etc.  Who was George Allison's father Thomas or Robert?  On 1893 marriage certificate Sept 9th Ada Grant /George Allison it says Thomas Allison was George's father but on George's birth certificate 21st June 1870 it quotes Robert Allison although Rhodes is crossed out? What do you think. Most appreciative of your help.
