Had a quick look and this entry in Parton churchyard seems to relate to your family.

It reads as follows.
Daniel CAMBELL d Diamonds Laggan 5.5.1846 80 yrs. wife Katerine
STURGEON  d 27.12.1863 100yrs,also Frederick CAMPBELL
d 12.7.1845  36 yrs, also Michael & Helen d infancy,  G/son William
Grierson d Crossmichael village 29.5.1884 37yrs.

Will chech out the rest later on today and let you know.

Hi Matt
this is definatley the family i have been chaseing but with this new information it seems to be the wrong michael campbell birth that i found as this michael died an infant and the michael i have from my family tree had peter campbell in glasgow lanarkshire 1828.
I dont suppose it gives anymore information about the date of michaels death.
im sure this michael must relate to the 1802 bith i have.
you dont think they could of had another son and called him michael?

wow you made me very happy man as this either proves or disproves a lot of the tree i have been working on so im happy but sad.

thankyou so much for your time and if you do find anymore info it would be nice to know.

regards julian

Hi

Can anyone help with Dalbeattie Monumental inscriptions.   Anthony Rigg died 27/8/1850 Barnbarroch (from Scotspeople).  His wife Mary born England 1801 appears to be alive until 1861 census but I cannot find her in 1871 so I am assuming she has passed away also.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
