Hi there,
Am interested to hear about the GOLDING/golden people in your research.

The IGI has JAMES SPURLING married to ANNE BRUNNING in 1797 at WORLINGWORTH.

The National Burial Index (on CD-rom) has a James SPURLING buried on 19th April, 1843, aged 85 at W'WORTH; an Anne SPURLING buried on 8th September, 1819, aged 42 at W'WORTH; and James SPURLING buried on 25th March, 1855, aged 60 at BRUNDISH.

BRUNDISH (not Braundish as you stated) is close to WORLINGWORTH.

There are CLARKE names at St. Mary's church graveyard at WORLINGWORTH connecting somehow with SPURLING.

My SPURLING ancestors (not James and Anne though) lived at WORLINGWORTH in the 1700-mid 1800s.

I might have to revisit this, as I've got a whole bunch of Golding's from Cavendish in Suffolk..... surnames though.

As I'm finding, it was a very prevalent surname in the area.   :D  Very fertile, our ancestors.

Hi Sally,

I've got a huge Golding line from Cambs mostly but am missing a few strains! so always open to hearing ANYTHING at all about other GOLDING lines.

Most of my lines have stuck to normal common christian names repeated down generations.
Lots of William's Stephen's, Edward's Lydia's, Elizabeth's
Newman, Reuben also. - ring any bells?

How far do you go back have they always been in Suffolk? I have no idea where that even is excuse my geography will have to go get out the atlas! LOL

Hello Lilygirl,

Will PM you so as not to hijack Skurrie's thread, but Skurrie, I would guess your forename Golding/Golden's were surname Golding/Golden's at some time, what do you think?   ;)
