Marc,
I have my Gran's birth cert 8/1/1895 which states her mother was Margaret Grey (M S Mcintyre)  born 15/2/1878 holy Isle, Lamlash.
I understand M S Mcintyre was one of a large family of 8 girls and 3 boys who lived in the white house on the island.
I too have stayed there around the early 1950's.
One of the other island sisters also married a Paterson who had a son John Paterson who I think in turn married his Cousin being my gran!
GW I will visit Grace next week
John

OK

I'm not fully into all of this however I now see "M S" on other birth certificates (under the mother's married name)  meaning Maiden Surname.

My Great Gran from Holy Isle was still recorded on my Gran's BC as Margaret (Gray) but that could have been an affectionate name.

Do you have a family tree available?

Hi John, her parents likely would've been John and Janet McIntyre. Janet was a taylor and yes I do have a tree and a bunch of other stuff document wise. I'm related via their son John and then his son John. my grandfather emigrated along with his brother william and their parents to Canada where he was a rancher in Saskatchewan. My gr grandparents returned to Scotland after ww2.

John, you should now be able to click on the little green "scroll" under people's names and send PMs that way.

OK folks,

My research has uncovered a family tree constructed between my mother (Margaret McIntyre Paterson) and my aunt Isobella Forest (M/S Raeside) mother Annie Raeside (M/S McIntyre) daughter of Janet McIntyre (M/S Taylor) and John McIntyre.

Therefore it appears my Gt Gt Grand parents were  Janet McIntyre (M/S Taylor) and John McIntyre.

Now need to see the family bible at the AHC
