Perkins
« on: Monday 18 October 10 17:00 BST (UK) »
Hi
I'm trying to research the family of James Edward Perkins b April 1917 Atcham. His mothers maiden name was Lewis but I've come up with 2 families. The first is Thomas (b 1844) and Elizabeth (b 1851) Perkins, in Atcham on the 1911 census. They seems far too old to have a son in 1917 (although they did have a single daughter, Margaret Elizabeth, at home aged 27 in 1917).
Or more lightly as far as age is concerned Thomas (b1880) and Elizabeth (b 1880) Perkins in Wentor. Both Elizabeths seem to have the maiden name Lewis.
James Perkins never lived with his birth family he was given(?) or went to live with the Powell family in Wellington as baby.
I can't start the search until I can work out who his parents were.
Any help is much appreciated.

This could be an impossible one to solve.

Have you got the birth certificate?  Does the father's occupation help?

I've ordered it, should be here in a day or two. I feel that it may be impossible too.
Thanks though as I hadn't thought of father's occupation.

Luckily they've got different occupations so that might be the clue you need.
