I've tried to find Joseph Chapman Dixon's arrival in Melbourne around 1864.

The most likely looks like Joseph Dixon aged 22 arrived Dec 1864 on the Tornado
B/232/006

Unfortunately it's impossible to tell from that if it is him or not.   :-\

I think Thomas Coor Dixon came to Australia too, as in the Queensland BDM there are entries for a Thomas Coar Dixon!   :D

Dee - you are fabulous.  You have gone out of your way to be so helpful and I am so very appreciative of all your efforts.  This site has the greatest researchers and I strongly recommend it to all.  I could not have got as far as I have in my genealogical research without you.  I live in the United States and research in other parts of the world can sometimes be rather difficult.  Onwards and upwards as they say!

Karen, I'm only to pleased to have been of help, as is scrappyshaz, I'm sure. I've had wonderful help from folks in the USA with some of my family queries.

Please just ask if there is anything specific in the thread that you'd like we Australian Rootschatters to try to follow up. I'm sure someone will if they can.  :D  :D  :D
