Brown's in Victoria,BC
« on: Friday 15 October 10 18:45 BST (UK) »
My great Aunt;  Edith, died in Victoria, in 1977. She was, I assume, still living with her husband James Gilbert Brown, unless he died at an earlier date. Edith was born in 1893 in St Bees, Cumberland, England, the daughter of Thomas Kell Telford and Margaret Stainton. If anyone has information on her marriage to James in Canada, or if she was previously married before immigrating to Canada, I would be grateful.................Thank you......Larry.t

Hi larry.t

I found a record of Edith's death on the pilot family search site.
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start

I live in BC and can look up the death registration for you if you would like the information from this document.

Do you know when Edith immigrated to Canada?  If she was married in the UK prior to immigration, you may be able to find it on FreeBMD.

Cheers,
Susan

I see James William Grady and his wife Edith arriving in Canada on the ship Regina in April 1924. They were headed to Winnipeg c/o J Wordrop? CNR .

Edit: James went to England for a visit and returned to Canada in January 1934 on the ship Laurentic. It says the family is living at Girvan, Saskatchewan.

Edith is in the book about Craik, Saskatchewan at

He was only gone about 3 months. You will also find a few passenger manifests with Edith Grady on them as well. She returned to Canada in 1927 (in England from Nov 1926-April 1927) and 1932 (in England from June to September). You should be able to located them in the UK Incoming passenger manifests to see what ships they took to England and where they were headed.
