2xF Ffrosts

Hi
 Have been researching the maternal line of Ffrost, have found plenty in Australia but seem to be none at all overseas, just dozens of 1xF. Can anyone throw any light on this anomaly?
Have quite a lot of Australian info about them if anyone is interested.

Can only see one family in the Channel Isles1851 and one settlement in Barbados apart from the ones you mention.

     Thanks so much for the feedback, am amazed at how quickly you found the two overseas ones. As very much a beginner at searching I have no idea about how you did it.
        It is really interesting to know of them, you have exploded my tentative theory about getting a fresh start in a new country so a new variation on the surname too.
       Have found the emigration record for the family from the UK, eldest son and new ( no.1 of 3 ) wife arrived in Victoria in May 1856, followed by parents and younger siblings in Jun1856.
      That record showed them as 1xF in the computer lists, must check the microfiche record of the ship list to see how they were recorded there.
      They were teachers, so expect they were fairly precise about spelling etc.     Thanks again. T

Just keep in mind that not everyone who wrong their name would have used the same spelling- civil records, indexes, etc. may vary.

  Yes, I've already hit that problem on the paternal side with Cheer/Chear/Cheir on three different certificates!
  At least her husband was consistently Sweetman.
  Just about sorted the Australian records for all the branches, though can't find some emigration dates/ships as surnames like Roberts, Davies, Hall and Gibson are difficult to identify among the many, also some came before the dates when the online lists start. T     but hey why not !
