ancestry.co.uk driving me crazy!!
« on: Friday 15 October 10 11:40 BST (UK) »
I am trying to get a subscrition on ancestry but I cant seem to make it work for me  :'( I fill the form in with my card details and accept the terms press accept and it sends me back to the same page saying I must fill in a state/province. So I do it all again making sure I say I'm in the Westmidlands and still it sends me back what am I doing wrong?
Is there another way of paying so I can get out of this crazy loop?

Can someone do a search for me? What I am looking for is UK incoming passenger lists from Ireland

Catherine McCarthy born 1897 and her Daughter Catherine McCarthy born 1919 also possibly her Husband Michael McCarthy (no birth date)

Thanks for taking the time to read  :)

Try putting West Midlands  instead of Westmidlands.  It may have a list of counties and is not recognising Westmidlands.

Linda
MOXHAM/MOXAM - Wiltshire & Surrey
SKEATS - Surrey
BRETT - Kent & County Durham
and
SWINBANK - anywhere

Hi

There are no incoming passenger lists from Ireland as they are simply ferries between one part of the UK and another.

Hi,

You can pay ancestry membership over the phone quoting your card details - thats how I did it and I think their number is  0800 404 9723.

Good luck  :)
Best wishes HL

Hi DeniseJo

I tried to buy vouchers using my card and had the same problem with this Province business - no matter what I did it kept coming back to that.  I'm not in the U.K. but want the currency exchange to be in pounds.

I e mailed them querying why I was having such a problem but got a very unsatisfactory reply saying I should try Ancestry.com and pay in dollars.

Needless to say I don't have any vouchers ::)

:) Andy is right there are no pasasenger ships recorded from Ireland to UK, unfortunate really. Have you tried the free 14 day trial offer they do?
