Hello to all,

I would like to try and find some old photos of Rorys Glen, Kilwaughter, if anybody can help or even tell me where I could get these from it would be appreciated.

You could try the Public Records Office (PRONI) when it reopens.

Check out the online Catalogue. www.proni.gov.uk

Hi John,

Many thanks for your reply, and I will try PRONI when it opens next year sometime.
I only posted this in case someone had photos that they could share with me.
Although PRONI is still open, it can only offer a limited search facility with regards records, I don't think you can obtain certificates of BMD's...  if anybody is desperate for a certificate then I suggest going to the Dublin Registry office in Roscomon. as they will be able to get these certificates for you.

Records of BMD's are obtained from the GRO in Belfast and not PRONI.

PRONI is not 'still open'- the mocrofilmed church records are available to Cregagh Library and the website (Ulster Covenant, e-catalogue, etc.) is still available.

You could try the Larne Museum, 2 Victoria Rd, Larne. BT40  I can get a phone no. for you. The Museum have a large collection of photographs of the area and they may have one for Rorysglen.  Is there a particular family that you are researching?

OK, wrong wording!! Proni are still available on the telephone and still can carry out some searches within reason, I got one back today.

Hi Jennie, many thanks for your reply, I will ask my aunt to call in and ask as she only lives around the corner.
My Great grandfather John McCrea was born there in 1888.
