I finally got the certificate and it reads:
1898 District of Tynemouth
Married 27th August 1898
George Hedley: Father of groom is George Hedley age 25, Bath Street Walker, profession Iron Ship Rivetter,, father George Hedley deceased (brick yard labourer)
Margaret McGaw, 23 years, Bath Street Walker, father Thomas McGaw (iron ship driller)
Witnessed were James and Annie Virtue.
The problem now is that there are so many George Hedley's, however his father must have died before the wedding took place. I found a George Hedley, who was very old, and was a tile maker at 6 Hunters Tile Sheds in Longebenton area in 1861, who had a child called George, who also was born about 1873, but I don't know if it's the same one. George Snr died in July 1898, which could have spurred on a wedding the month later perhaps?
if anybody has any suggestions, as always would be greatly appreciated
