Hi All,

I am trying to Trace My Wifes Family from Belfast, the only Information is that her Grandfather was George Dornan and he was born March 1901.

If anyone can give me any Information on how I can access information on Irish records it would be much appreciated

Hi everyone,

If someone would be kind enough to have a look for the following person in 1901, it would be most appreciated:

George Dornan - Born April 1901

I know it is a bit sparse, and I apologise, but if you can find me some information then I can kick start my wife's Northern Irish Ancestry!

Many Thanks

DTR

Ulster Historical Foundation have a George Malachy Dornan recorded in 1900 for County Down and a George David Dornan in 1909 for County Antrim. How certain is your wife of the year and County?

Hi,

My wife is pretty certain of the date, his birthday was 15th March 1901, born in Hillsborough, I believe that is Co. Down?

We are trying to double check with other family regarding date so I will keep an open mind on the information you have kindly offered until we get a bit more certainty on his birth date.

I will post again if I can get more information.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Cheers

Have you had a look at The Ulster Covenant? There are a few Dornan entries for Lisburn area in general and Hillsborough in particular- perhaps some of George's relatives appear.

Search the Covenant here, just type Dornan in the surname box, hit find and away you go.
