I wonder if it is possible for you to check if my grandmother Jessie McCormick was buried in Carnmoney in ?1983/4/5.  I dont know if there is more than one Presbyternian church as I live in England.

Also have you heard of  Hay Park Hospital and The Royal Hospital please.

Many thanks

Adrienne

Hiya Adrienne,

The Haypark Hospital was situated in South Belfast off the Ormeau Road. The Royal Hospital would be the Royal Victoria Hospital, on the Grosvenor Road, which was completed in 1906. It is claimed it was the first air conditioned building in the world. Belfast's Sirocco Works factory pioneered the development of air conditioning.

Christopher.

You say Hay Park WAS situated. does that mean it is no more.

Is the other hospital still in existence and do you think I could get any info about my grandmother Jessie McCormick (Nee Mallard).  I am told she died there in about 1983/84/85.  I cant realy rely on my aunt who gave me the information.

Adrienne (she of the MCCORMICK/MCCORMACK/MALLARD fame)

I think the Haypark building is still standing. As far as I know the picture on the Belfast Forum was taken the other day so I've posted a message to ask the guy if he knows what takes place in the building these days.

The Royal Victoria Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in the British Isles.

It's a pity you have not the correct date of Jessie's death. There may well have been death notices in the Belfast Telegraph.

Yes I see from Google that it got very high marks, more than can be said for some of the hospitals in England at the moment.

Thanks once again.
