Mole and Heaume of St Peter Port Guernsey
« on: Tuesday 12 October 10 04:13 BST (UK) »
My ancestor Elizabeth Mole was baptised at the Town Church, St Peter Port Guernsey on 9/5/1799.

Her parents were George Mole and Rachel Mole (nee Heaume)

She had a younger brother who was born in 1804 in St Peter Port Guernsey, named George Mole (I do not have a Baptismal date for him)

I would love to know when George Mole senior married Rachel Heaume - I am hoping this would have taken place at the Town Church St Peter Port Guernsey; and also if there were any other siblings for Elizabeth and George baptised at the Town Church.

Sometimes the Mole surname appears as Moles.

Would be most grateful for any help, if anyone is searching the St Peter Port, Town Church records at any time.

Hi
Did some digging for you when I was at the Priaulx library. whislt doing some research for others found the following which I hope will help:

George Moles married Rachael Heaume  on 19/06/1791  - sorry did not have time to look up the full record they are on micrfiche and hard to decipher .

Babtism of George:
The following is the entry in the records:

1804 "George, the son of George Moles and of Rachael Heaume, his wife, was born on 1st September and babtised on the 9th of the same month, had for sponsor William Hart, George Moles and Mary Shipcott"

I also found the following record which is written in French:

"Catherine, fill de George Moles & de Rachael Heaume la femme ne le 10th & batisse le 28th de Fevr.1802  a enpour Parrain George Moles & pour Marraines Rachael Heaum Raachael Moles."

Unfortunately the person I needed to speak to re a translation was at lunch but I think you can follow it although I am not sure why Rachaels name appears twice at the end.

Thank you so much Allan, this is really helpful - and no need for a translator as I could understand this.

Much appreciated.

Thank you for helping with Guernsey research, it really is appreciated.
