Can anyone advise me on which one to pick?
It's exactly the same software - the only difference is the subscription it comes with  :)

I know the actual software is the same but is it worth getting the Platinum version with 6 months subscription instead of the Delux version with just 3 months? Is it worth the money for the extra 3 months?

Matt

If you buy at amazon uk these days, you get:

Deluxe including 3 months Essentials: £ 27.97
Platinum including 6 months Premium: £ 29.99

http://www.ancestry.co.uk/subscribe/signup.aspx

Premium being the more complete subscription, I know which I'd choose!  :D

Hello,
I am thinking of investing in this.
I know people have said it is much easier for online use etc but (and apologies for this naive question) can I use it just to store details for my private use with no online options.

thanks

My FTM 2011 is still in its box but I'm expecting it to work like its predecessors: I don't use FTM to go online or have an online tree.

I disabled the automatic search for updates and the ancestry matches but I do notice that it connects automatically in the background each time you open the programme. Not really sure why, maybe for the mapping thingie to work. You can then tick 'go offline' if you wish.

 :)

Thanks. I'm thinking of going for the Platinum one if I can afford it.

I was given the Platinum 2011 for Christmas- my better half bless him, he knows how to keep on the best side of me- so far it has only given me access to an extra 3 months and still essentials rather than premium, Iam awaiting an answer from the Ancestry team as to why this is....

Hello,
I bought the Platinum one this week and as you say, it has 'Essentials' with it rather than Platinum. I phoned on the free number and it all got sorted there and then. The young chap said there were 'a few' like this  ::)
