Hi   The official Brueton Scribe is named Christopher Brueton so I am going to put the question to him.    There were definitely gun barrel makers amongst our lot.     It gets more and more interesting the futher it goes into it..    Pat.

hi everyone :)
yes  a theophilus does appear  in our  tree ,
he is one of the  brothers of  elijahs dad (also called elijah b 1818) so we are probably the same extended family

also variations of somdonia , sindonia , sabra and sindane seem to appear more than
once ,

bruEton ,spelt with the  E, seems to be the birmingham spelling of the name bruerton , i have also seen it spelt brewerton and bruton
im tending  to think that bruerton and brewerton may be  variants of the same family name
in the early records brueton/bruerton/brewertons seem to be quite a small  family but spread out ,
all the early census ones iv come across have been metal workers of one type or another ,
link to a one name  study i came across online  of
 brewerton (with variant bruerton)

Hi Sarah    The Theopullis you mention is not the right one the brothers and sisters do not fit.
There is nothing I can do from this end.    You have to get hold of your server to sort it out
I have tried and all I get is that you are permanently unavailable   Will check with Chris with the Dianna Brueton query     Pat..

With many  thanks especially to Pat and also another cousin for this info.

    So far

Elijah Brueton (b1853 Birmingham,Warks) marries Janet Moncrieff  in -jan qrt -1879 -Aston, Warks,
    ^
Elijah Brueton (b 1818 Darlaston,Staffs) marries Mary Ann Newey in  -oct qrt - 1845 - Birmingham ,Warks
    ^
    Joseph Bruerton (b 1789 Darlaston,Staffs)  marries *Phoebe ? (born Handsworth, Staffs 1792) - in ?
    ^
The spelling of the name "Brueton"  can/does vary considerably .
They seem to have mostly been metal workers of one type or another in and around the Warks/Staffs area .
According to spoken family history "The Neweys and Bruetons have been interlinked for a long long time" .

(*we think not Phoebe Dangerfield , who probably marries a different joseph bruerton)

Hi, I run the one-name study on the name Brewerton variant Bruerton. Sally has just made contact with me. I am having problems tying Elijah 1853 to Elijah 1818. He is not on the 1861 census. Any thoughts
    Many thanks
    Jeanie.
