Marriage & Death
« on: Friday 08 October 10 09:00 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to find the Marriage of a C J Midlane and a Betha James CJ Midlane was a Captain i think in the merchant Navy.
also the death  of a Frank James from Penarth mother Mary, Father Evan he probably died age 12mths or earlier.
now he doesn't appear on any of the census for the family and on the 1911 census it states that there were 11 children born alive but only 10 are listed on the 1911 census and Frank being the missing one.
Thanks for any help on this
                         Dave

You are welcome,

Charles & Bertha MIDLANE could have a daughter named Gwendoline born 1911 - you would need to check 1911 cenus.

On FreeBMD there's a 1911 Bertha G MIDLANE also daughter 1912 Freda M MIDLANE, 1918 Edward J MIDLANE with mmn JAMES

regarding the death of Frank JAMES, who I persume is Bertha's brother, Bertha Louise JAMES was born Jun q 1889 Cardiff.

Do you have the James family on the 1891 & 1901 census as this could give you a clue as to when Frank JAMES was born

Hi Again Ladyhawk,
Frank does not appear on any of the census's but on the 1911 one it records 11 children born alive and 1 died i can account for 10 but not Frank?
the family are from Penarth unless he was born and died between census's

Hi Dave,

You could be right about born & died between censuses as there are these death entries

Cardiff Jun q 1897
Frank JAMES age 0
Vol. 11a page 224 &

Cardiff Sep. q 1899
Frank JAMES age 1
vol. 11a page 258
