Welcome grandpasearch1

With only a little information we can often still find out much about our ancestors however you may need just a little more than a name, father's name and approx. birth year, especially with a common name.

Can I suggest than you start a specific topic on the Ireland board giving all the information that you have and we can start from there to help you to search.

e.g. include religion, how you are aware of he having siblings and their suspected names etc.

I'll have a look now and see if I can see anything initially for you

My James Joseph Brady was born in 1892 with Father John but they never went to Canada.  I don't think they are the same family;

This is tough!  Thank you for getting back to me....one thing we do know for sure is that he came to Canada...his birthdate...not completely 100%...ah well!

don't be put off - some people only have a name and find enough to research eventually

any small piece of information could be vital e.g. if you locate his immigration records who he travelled with; who were witnesses to his marriage or sponsors to his children; what he named his children, etc. all provide clues

best of luck  ;)
