I'm aware of that but it seems like a shame that in order to protect people, things can sometimes go so overboard. I had a lecture once on website blocking in public libraries - it's a minefield.

Sometimes I get Rootschat messages in junk mail.
Ringrose

Yes, that was where most of mine went years ago when I was on another site  with Roots as its title, notified the ISP that it was to do with genealogy and from then on had no more going into SPAM.

Cheers

Ive had 2 messages this morning---one about Rootschart going to junk mail and the other direct to my inbox. Perhaps we need to think about the titles we use in the message.

Well, nothing yet from Tristan. Maybe he's thinking about it...or maybe he's not.  ;D
Anyway, I think it's definitely the CHAT part of the name, my antivirus is American built. They don't have a problem with Roots, since they had a long running and very popular TV program with that title.
As Daisy Loo says, (I nearly wrote Daisy Boo.  ::) ) chat rooms are known pick-ups for nasty people. Also it's the amount of time wasted by kids on chat room sites. We adults can waste as much time chatting as we like.  ;D
It only takes a moment for me to untick the child protection component when I'm installing the security suite, but it is a matter of "un-ticking". And how many times do we remember to un-tick? That's one of the really big traps of online selling.
In the last few days I've had about a dozen notifications from Rootschat for PMs in my emails on my PC, not one made it into my lap top, 'cos I forgot to un-tick the bl**dy Child Protection and haven't got around to the uninstall and re-download stuff.  ::) I can't come onto Rootschat on my lap top until I do that either. Even on my PC it takes a few messages retreaved from my antispam before the program gets the message.
I mean, this isn't something  life shattering, it's just a little thorn in my side. If it's something that's simple to do, that would be fantastic, but if not, I'll live with it.

Please be aware that Trystan has a full time job and cannot react immediately to every query on RootsChat.

I am not speaking for him here, but please note:

This means that there could be nearly 3 million references to RootsChat in each of the many search engine databases
(Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc, etc, etc, etc).

This makes me think that it is very unlikely that the name will be changed.

Thanks Admin, it was just a thought.
I figured it would be either quite simple or humungously imposable, but if you never ask, you'll never know.
