Dear Ken

Thank you so much for that I will now try and get the medal card and the clasps information to see where he was stationed and I will read the site. I have been busy with visitors and its hard to concentrate and rude!  But I will be able to do this soon and then I will come back when I have the the information and let you know. I bet he wore his medal and clasps with pride, I hope so.

Thank you again Ken,
Kindest regards
Pat

Hi,
Another useful source would be the following link.  I have used their research services before andd they have a wealth of knowledge and research material regarding the Second Anglo-Boer War.  In particular they can research the Medal Roll for any entitlement which, if he appears there, will give you an indication of where he served. http://www.casus-belli.co.uk/index.asp?PageId=116
Hope this helps,
Dale

Hi Dale

Thank you so much for the link I joined and searched and although there were same names listed they were not mine. I also looked at the research enquiries page but kept getting 'page not not found' so I assume perhaps he is closed for a wee while as one of his other sites was being restructered too; so I will leave it for a while, but what an interesting lot of information.
I also followed David's Medal Rolls at the NA and nearly fainted that the NA Researcher cost so much unless you have a specific reference point to go from, so I may leave that for a while too and wait for Casus! I also waded into the many military researches available that the NA list.
I still have a few questions that may be or not answered here by my Gurus if they do not mind so I will plod on and by that time his site may be fully up and running again.

Thankyou again your help is really appreciated,
Kindest regards,
Pat

Now I will return to my studies of this War at the sites suggested
