Wexford address - needs deciphering please!
« on: Tuesday 05 October 10 15:30 BST (UK) »
Hi.  I sent off to the GRO for this marriage cert, but I can't figure out the parish or the home address of the bride and groom.  Anyone have any ideas?  The marriage took place in Enniscorthy, Wexford.

Thanks,
Clarissabell

Hi,

Can you give the surnames involved.  It might be possible to cross-reference these names in something like Griffiths Valuation, which would give you a starting point.

One of the addresses looks like Money........   but a little more information might make it easier to decipher.

Cheers

Thanks.  The names are John Freeman and Margaret McGrath 1894.  On the 1901 census, it says they were both born in Wexford, but John Freeman says he is from Co. Wexford.  All their children seem to have been born in the same area, as the birth indexes all says Enniscorthy.  As you can see, John's father was Jeremiah Freeman, and Margaret's father was George McGrath.

can you read the name of the Parish Priest on the cert ?

I can sometimes work out which parish by checking the RC directory in Thoms..

Hi Shane.  It's Nicholas Lambert.  The handwriting is really difficult to read and I think the quality of the photocopy isn't helping!

Fingers crossed!
Thanks,

Moneytucker and Courtnacuddy seems to be quite close to Davidstown.. about 5km

Would the RC parish for that area be Davidstown ?
