mullens & varients blacksmiths Benone Co.Derry

I am searching for any family connected to William Mullan in the co.Derry /Tyrone area. William was my great grandfather ...born1831  married Rose Mcaneney around 1856/57       He is in 1880 u.s census as a blacksmith ,the family moved to u.s about 1871-74 returned to plumbridge area Lisnacreaght living there in the 1901 census   . I have baptismal records for the family they had before emigrating     
The co. derry link is through blacksmithing .......residents in a house1 Clooney Benone   1911 are a Catherine mullan ... age 59  widow             james  ...age 29 ...william age21..henry.....age19  thomas ...age 17 all are blacksmiths living with them is nancy mullan  age....82  mother in law      could nancy  be the mother of william i   Ihave pulled all the mullans i could find out of the  1901    1911       census this at this moment looks most promsing

daughter Mary Mullen, 13, Ireland, at school
daughter Margaret Mullen, 11, N.Y., at school
daughter Rose Mullen, 19, N.Y., at school
son William Mullen, 4, N.Y.
daughter Catharine Mullen, 2, N.Y.

Is this the family in 1901 census?

If so, it gives William's birthplace as Co. Tyrone not Co.Londonderry.

Possibly son James married and with family in 9111-

Mullin, Mullan, etc. is too common a surname in Northern Ireland to make assumptions about connections based on a common occupation such as blacksmithing.

A      big thank you for such a fast reply  I have just found roots chat today though I have used roots .com over the years  a great response.  Agree with the blacksmith connection & name, but it is a starting point that i thought people may have a memory of ...... The records got from plumbridge start - Patrick baptised 1857..  sponsors Michael mullin & mary mc anany ( then in u.s married to bridget 1800 & family living in orange new haven Connecticut .)        William 1860  sponsers James corr & Rosy gormley  roots.ie show 2 deaths for a William 1874  1879 plumbridge parish .....James mary    Michael are as you state .  From this William & rose left Michael in ireland ( my grandfather) as an infant & took mary along to u.s  I just hope I have reserched the right family  or months of work are gone I do know there is a mcanenny link & g/f mullans dates tie in
