Civil Registration Indexes
« on: Friday 01 October 10 14:55 BST (UK) »
Does SKS know if the Indexes for Ireland on Family Search are complete, please?

I have the birth of Patricia Margaret Daly in March 1902, but am unable to find a death record. In fact the birth record  is the only record I have of her existence.....so I'm well and truly stuck at present !  ::)

Many thanks

The online index includes BMDs up to 1958, and they are as complete as the GRO Index books. There can, of course, have been errors or omissions creating the original index books, or transcribing the familysearch records...

Did Patricia Daly marry ?

That was quick Shane, thanks  ;D

I have no information whatsoever about her sorry, though I've sent for a couple of marriage certificates ad hoc.....and they aren't the right person.

I'm just stuck. :-\

Where was Patrica in 1911 ?

Assuming Ireland...have you checked the census returns ?

I don't know where she was in 1911, but she wasn't in England with the rest of her family, and I can't find her in Ireland either.

Until a few weeks ago, I'd never even heard of her. We thought there were only 2 children in the family.......my gran and her sister.....and neither of them let on throughout their very long lives that there were other siblings.
A few weeks ago I uncovered another 5 children including Patricia. I've accounted for 4 of them but can find no other record of Patricia other than her birth.

It's much more difficult tracing people forwards in time, rather than back as there are usually less clues. With a common surname like Daly it could be difficult to find Patrica.

Have you found the rest of the family on the 1901 census in Ireland ?

I don't really expect to trace her forwards, I think I'm just trying to establish that the child died  :-\

The family were in England in 1911, as far as I can make out, I think they left Ireland at the end of 1902.

The 1911 census asked married women how many years married, how many children and how many children were living. What is listed re: children?

Aghadowey, the mother had remarried by 1911, so children from the previous marriage wouldn’t have been listed.

Since my query, I have discovered that the child was living elsewhere, so will lock the thread.

Many thanks to you and Shane for your help.
