Hi Ted,

according to the CFHS Baptism Index there was a George PAGET baptised in Wisbech St Peter in 1830 to William and Sarah of Walsoken

Seems the Museum hold the parish records

Excellent. I have Isaac Padgett born 1867 Mount Cole, died 30 September 1937 Braemore Werribee Vic; he married Barbara Gunn.

This looks very promising.

Hello Jack55,

Are you seeking information on the same family as TEDSCOUT and Friend?

Chatters will, I'm sure, be pleased to help if you want to explain what you are particularly searching for  (if anything :D)

Hi

I'm not actively researching the Padgett family at this time. As said, Isaac Padgett marries into 'my' line of the Gunn family from Ballarat  / Buninyong (and before that Caithness). I have a very good record for the consequent 'Gunn Padget't line but did not have the earlier Padgett material, so many thanks as I am in the process of nearly finishing a major family history with another family member.

But yes, the others who are related to the Padgetts - I'm not - may perhaps be interested in knowing the Gunn Padgett line is available if they are interested. They spent most of their time at 'Braemore' Werribee South, for example.

best wishes
Jack

Information from a family descendant of George and Martha Padgett .     PADGET ONE NAME STUDY ON FB .                                      As you know as part of my One Name Study I am studying Padget's (and variants of the name) everywhere! I have started in Yorkshire England and as a group we have been looking at Padget's of one particular family in Australia. At the moment I have over 4,500 people in the Padget tree and this consists of 52 separate families (and I have a long way to go ). At some point some of these families will probably merge together.
This is where you come in . I have found a George Padget born in 1833 in Camberidgeshire England to William Padgett (Farmer and a Sarah Curson) who went to Ballaret, Australia and married  Martha Turner on 3 October 1855 there. There descendants all seem to have stayed there (As this was where Harold Guy Padget settled). It seems such a coincidence that  they have settled in this particular place. So my question is to all the group members that have Padgett's in Ballerat is this a common name in that area and do any of you have these people in your tree?                                      This information may be helpful , your inforamtion will be very helpful to the researcher in the UK
