This sounds like the same family. Do you know anything else about her family? Thanks

William Spindlow married twice, to Ann McCullough then to Hannah Patterson. Do you know the name of Emily's mother? The 1911 Census shows a James Spindlow & 4 Moneypenny's on a ship on the river Lagan. There were also Spindlow's in Armagh. I'd be grateful for any info you have. Thanks

I'm sorry but I have little information on the Spindlows. What little I know came from an aunt who died in the 1990's aged nearly 100. I really only know that my great grandmother Emily Spindow was the daughter of William Spindlow who was a canal boatman and they belonged to the Church of Ireland at Brackaville, Coalisland.
Emily married John Moneypenny and one of their daughters, Isabella, was my grandmother.
One of the other correspondents mentioned that the Spindlow name was possibly a derivative of an Italian one. My aunt also told me that there was an Italian connection in the family but she did not know much about it.
I have a lot of information about the Moneypenny's which i am happy to share with you but don't know how to contact you other than through Rootschat.

kmc. Since my great grandmother, Emily Spindlow, was born in in 1830 her mother must have been Ann McCullough Williams' first wife. It would seem that your great great grandmother and my great grandmother may have been sisters.

Hi Marie
I have just spotted your posts about John Moneypenny who has my family name. If you have any more information on his family, I'd love to share it.
I have compiled quite a big database now which until recently I had on a website. I've had to take it down as I changed internet companies but I still have it all on file, aphabetically and I only had one child for John and Emily, which was David b 1871.
If you can fill in any gaps on this family, I'd be very grateful. Likewise, I can share what I know with you!

(bad news)
The Mercury 4/9/1884.
Sir Charles Moneypenny, linen manfacturer, Belfast, was found, in July,
in a carriage on the night train between Paris and Brussels, with
his brains blown out. He is supposed to have been married.
