Have some new information regarding Michael Quinn..he was born in 1816, came to US in early 1930's, oral history says through New York..was probably married shortly after arrival, to a woman last name Ohara..first child born in Otsego, Michigan 1937, then she disappeared, likely died...and he married again, this time To Bridget Mulherin, daughter of Patrick Mulherin, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. All I know is he said he came from Limerick...common family names besides Michael and Bridget are Johanna, Jeremiah, and Frank or Francis, his oldest son was named Albert. They belonged to St. Andrew's Parrish (Catholic) in Grand Rapids so he may have been Catholic. I know families often migrated together, the name Nagel and Fitsmorris appear quite often in the census reports, same age group and from Ireland. Other Family surnames here are Coffee and Hughes. My thought is Michael must have gone to Michigan pretty quickly after coming over, so maybe had a reason to go to such a small, rural place in the middle of nowhere..and either the elusive Miss Ohara came with him or the romance bloomed very quickly. Know there are always clues where we don't first see them, am I missing something? Wish I could come there to look but not possible right now!! Attached is a copy of Albert Quinn and his family, maybe someone will see a family resemblance. Thanks for responding!
