It could, of course, be your notebook that is the problem.  As it's new, I'd take it back and tell them there is a problem with it.

Sounds like it's your Notebook, given it's not even connecting when attached via the cable.  I'd agree with LizzieW, and take it back.

Hi all,


  It would appear the problem is with my notebook as my Internet connection is showing no problems, so I will be packing it back in it's box, and taking it back to the shop. Hopefully will get it repaired or a replacement as it is under guarantee, thanks again for all the help trying to sort this out it's very much appreciated.
